The Janice Marshall Stage School officially opened its doors in Irvine, Ayrshire in 1969. The school has rapidly grown since then, with many of our talented students going off in different directions to pursue theatrical careers. There have been many changes over the last 45 years; particularly the vast range of dance classes now available for children of all age groups (from 1.5 years and up). We have 2 branches in Irvine and Dreghorn.

The school offers a variety of classes ranging from Boogie Babies to Street Dance. The Musical Theatre Department offers students the chance to focus on Drama & Singing and our Showtime Youth Theatre gives our students the chance to perform in our yearly full scale production, as well as opportunities throughout the United Kingdom.

Our mission is to allow our students to express their artistic needs in a fun and friendly environment whilst developing individuality and confidence, all led by the highly experienced staff of the Stage School.

My name is Lucy Borrie, I am 19 years old and a previous student at the Janice Marshall Stage School now in my graduate year at the Northern Ballet School in Manchester. I began my journey quite late, being around 14 and the minute I began, the school inspired me more than I could’ve ever imagined. I knew it was what I wanted to pursue and without the constant push and motivation from the teachers at the Stage School I would never have gotten where I am today. The teaching couldn’t get any better as all of the teachers have always shown me their interest in the art and the desire to teach. My dream job would be to get a job in The Moulin Rouge and I would never be able to dream so big if it wasn’t for where i began my journey.
